Rocky Point Trail
The Rocky Point Trail (U.S.F.S. No.554, 1.8 miles) offers exceptional views of Red Creek Canyon, Stone-coal George, and Coal Knob if you are willing to climb up some of the higher Pottsville sandstone outcroppings along the trail. If the leaves have dropped from the trees, the falls along Fisher Spring Run and numerous inviting rock formations are visible, especially to the east. As one would expect from its name, the trail’s treadway is extremely rocky, but there are no steep grades.

Snow-skiing and High Country
Snow-skiing and High Country: The best time for skiing is between June and September. Mt Buller, 237km north-east of Melbourne, on the snowy Mountain high plains, is an excellent ski resort. Further north, Bogong National Park is a mix of fertile valleys, wide open plains, forests and mountains. It is ideal for camping, bush-walking or horse riding. There are excellent ski resorts at Falls Creek, Hotham Heights and Rocky Valley. Enjoy the comfort of Alpine lodges.
