Snow-skiing and High Country: The best time for skiing is between June and September. Mt Buller, 237km north-east of Melbourne, on the snowy Mountain high plains, is an excellent ski resort. Further north, Bogong National Park is a mix of fertile valleys, wide open plains, forests and mountains. It is ideal for camping, bush-walking or horse riding.
